Halos Work Extra Innings To Shock SLO Again

June 18, 2016

On a fireworks night in San Luis Obispo, the Halos offense provided most of the pop on the diamond.

Kaleb Murphy’s (USC) RBI double in the top of the 11th inning was the final breakthrough for the Ventura Halos, who halted a three-game losing streak with a 5-4 win over the San Luis Obispo Blues at San Luis Obispo Baseball Stadium at Sinsheimer Park.

Nic Bereaud went 3-5 with a two-run home run, a double and a single, and Chase Wheatcroft (College of the Canyons) pitched a perfect three and a third innings of relief with three strikeouts to earn his first win of the season. The Halos pounded out 14 hits, while the pitching staff held San Luis Obispo to three hits and ten base runners for the game.
